In case you missed it, Hollywood put out the trailer for the new Goosebumps movie.

Now, before you laugh at me, hear me out. This looks really good. Funny. Cute. It seems like a twist on the books, where the writers tie the classic series together into one movie.

I’m interested.

As I kid, I lived on a steady diet of R.L. Stine novels. His young adult lit, along with several other authors, got me through a lot of summers and more than one long car ride. I loved the creepy feeling I got from the stories, even though they always ended happily and most of the drama would be considered tame today. I’d read one book, then another, then another, until we had so many books that one year my mother made me donate a whole slew of them to a used book shop (where we got $25 for about 60 books).

So, this looks good. Hollywood meets my childhood once again. Now, you probably won’t find me first in line for this movie, but it’s on my list of things to watch.

Check it out here and see why:
